Red Alert 3

I just wanted to start out by saying, Red Alert 1 was the shit. Red Alert and Total Annihilation have given me some of my fondest childhood ass-stomping, noob-crushing memories.

That being said, Red Alert 2 left a lot to be desired. It was a good game for the most part. The story was pretty neat, and well acted. But the game play kinda sucked. I was disappointed at the low number of units and building available. Maybe it was just me. TA was the KING of units and buildings. Holy shit, theres like, what, a few thousand units out there to download? And thats just counting the good quality ones. And if I remember right, you can change the script to allow an unlimited number of units, so long as your PC could handle it.

After watching these videos, I really want to check out RA3.

The Ore Node shit doesnt look too good. If it doesnt have fields of Tiberium, it aint Red Alert.

Don't believe RA ever had tiberium, just fields of ore to collect. Different time line then the main command and conquer series wihch did have tiberium.

First impressions with RA3 are that they dumbed it down to much. They veered towards more action type play. I don't even think I was able to build a base in the first 4-5 missions for soviets, was simply run here type missions.

With any other C&C game, i've pretty much played them non stop till I finished, with RA3 I got 6 or so missions in for soviets and haven't played it since.

The C and C series jumped the shark after the original Red Alert. Everyone knows that.

It was actually fun as hell on LAN multiplayer. But it could have been so much more.

Necro:

Yeah, I got this game out of boredom, not really a fan. I think I'm gonna go buy the pack of all the old games for like 20 bucks.
